Reading about AI tools and actually using one regularly are two different things. If you’ve been meaning to start but keep putting it off, here’s a low-pressure week to get you from zero to comfortable.
Day 1–2: Pick one tool and have one real conversation
Don’t research the “best” tool for hours — pick any well-known chatbot and ask it something you’d normally Google. Notice how it responds differently than a search engine would.
Day 3: Try one writing task
Draft an email, a short message, or a paragraph you actually need to write. Edit it in your own voice afterward — this is the core skill you’ll use most.
Day 4: Try one research task
Ask a multi-part question about something you’re genuinely curious about, then ask a follow-up. Notice how the conversation builds on itself, unlike a single search query.
Day 5: Try image generation once
Even if you don’t need one, generating a single image teaches you how prompt wording changes output — a skill that transfers to every other AI tool.
Day 6: Revisit something from earlier in the week
Go back to Day 3’s writing task and try rephrasing your request to get a noticeably better result. This is where real skill-building happens.
Day 7: Reflect and pick one habit to keep
Which task from the week actually saved you time? Keep doing that one thing regularly rather than trying to use AI for everything at once.
